Chirundu father, son, defile 12-year-old girl

Police in Chirundu have reported that a 12-year-old girl has been defiled by her Stepfather aged 74 and her Stepbrother aged 24.

Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale said the incident was suspected to have occurred on February 9, 2023 at unknown time in Chief Chipepo’s area in Chirundu District.

Police recieved the report on February 12, 2023 around 13:00 hours.

Brief facts are that the victim who is in grade three at a named Primary School in Chirundu District was noticed exhibiting strange behavior while in class.

When the class teacher went close to her, the girl was smelling badly and further investigations while at school revealed that her private parts had sores,” Mwale said in a statement on Monday.

She was taken to a health post where she was diagnosed with Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and later the matter was reported to Police where investigations revealed that the girl was abused by her stepfather and her stepbrother.

He said the victim was currently admitted to the hospital where she was undergoing treatment and the two suspects are detained in police custody.

Mwale said investigations into the matter have intensified.
