He said that the named foreign cleaning company had allegedly been deducting from workers as union contributions whose records cannot show since 2016.

“Last year ,we reported this matter to the Minister of Labour but down the line nothing has yielded results, this company colluded with some bogus
company where about 7,000 workers joined and started contributing money which cannot be traced,” Makumbi said.

He said the Association was surprised to see that a dozier which was submitted to the Ministry of Labour had not been acted upon despite providing evidence to each of the allegations.

Makumbi said the Association has no other option but to take the matter to the joint investigative wing for them to act upon .

He said about K8.8 million were gotten from the workers using a bogus union without  traces of bank deposit or electronic transactions.

Makumba said since the New Dawn Government has a zero tolerance to corruption, officials in the Government should not be seen to be abating crime.
