LuSE reports November inflation at 9.90%, as year 2022 closes with 24.9m shares traded

A total of 24.9 million shares were transacted on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) in the month of December resulting in a market turnover of K86.5 million.

This is according to the monthly bulletin produced by the LuSE.

It indicated that 1,616 trades were recorded in the month of December, stating that this included trading activity in Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) Africa, which is trading as CCAF on the quoted tier.

Meanwhile, the LuSE All Share Index (LASI) closed the month at 7,337.79 points, increasing by 0.73 percent from its close in November 2022.

It indicated that the market closed on a market capitalisation of K72.87 billion including Shoprite Holdings representing 0.32 percent increase from its close in November 2022 and K38.09  billion excluding Shoprite Holdings posting a 0.61 percent rise from its close the previous month.

Shoprite Holdings is a dual listed Security.

It indicated that annual rate of inflation for November 2022 was recorded at 9.90 percent.
The statement indicated that bonds of total face value of K K2.71 billion were transacted in 147 trades, resulting in a bond turnover of K K1.65 billion.

It stated that the market recorded a net outflow of US$92,244
