Patriotic Front (PF) presidential aspirant, Greyford Monde, has called for laws to recall non-performing elected office holders from office.

Monde said while a president can be impeached, recall of Members of Parliament, Mayors and Councilors was not elaborately captured in the law.

“Once I am elected president of this country, I will push for a law to recall non-performing members of parliament, mayors and councilors to improve service delivery,” he said.

Monde said during a television talk show on KBN on Tuesday.

He said the PF was intact adding that those still doubting the popularity of the former ruling party would be shocked in 2026.

Monde also said the PF was the most Democratic Party saying this was the reason more than nine candidates were vying for the top slot.

“We are a democratic party and very attractive, this is the reason more than nine candidates have applied for the top job, after the convention, the party will be intact again, we have gone through that before and came out stronger,” he said.

Monde, the former Agriculture Minister, also took a swipe at the government for mismanaging the food reserve.

“Fertiliser distribution was mismanaged now, leading to the dire situation where people are queuing for mealie-meal, something that has never happened in the last 30 years,” he said.
