Police arrests 4 suspects, including one female for car burglary

Police have arrested four suspects for theft from motor vehicles in Lusaka’s Chelstone area.

This includes a 24 year-old female who has been on police wanted list for the same offence, says Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lusaka.

Mwale said the suspects, aged between 22 and 28, all from Matero township in Lusaka were apprehended on February 6, 2023 around 14:00 hours at Lukundo Liquor Trading Centre in Chelstone area.

“Following an increase in cases of theft from motor vehicles recorded in Chelstone area in the recent past, Police have arrested four suspects including a 24 year-old female who have been on Police wanted list for the same offence.

“Police also impounded a Toyota Mark X bearing two registration numbers, BAX 1502 and NM 94. The motor vehicle is suspected to have been used in other criminal activities,” he said.

Mwale stated that the suspects were detained in police custody and investigations had intensified.
