He asked the security guard and Chowa to help him pack his properties to the vehicle and when they finished packing, he took some goods for off-loading.

It was at this point that he discovered that a security box that had the firearm with 49 rounds of ammunition, two magazines and a firearm license were missing.

He then called the two who were helping him to pack the household goods to inquire if they had seen the box, and Chowa ran away.

The matter was reported to the police who later visited the scene of crime and interviewed the guard, who confirmed that after being questioned, Chowa instead left the place before knocking off time and never returned.

Mweemba said efforts to locate him were made but to no avail hence launching a manhunt for him.
