UPND official, Chanda, warns ex-President Lungu not to try the patience of Hichilema administration

The United Party for National Development (UPND) Chairperson for elections, Percy Chanda, says former president Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front (PF) leadership should refrain from engaging in acts that may put them in more problems.

“They must realise that already some of them have more problems from their past conduct. The manner in which leaders of the former ruling Party have been conducting themselves has been very provocative to both President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND membership,” Chanda said.

He said in statement on Sunday that utterances by former leaders clearly show that up to now PF had not accepted its fate from the Zambian people.

Chanda said former President Lungu and the entire PF leadership should not to use the freedom of speech that they denied Zambians to put them in more problems.

He said the PF should stop deceiving itself that they would come back, “don’t push President Hichilema too far.

“Mr Lungu and his team must instead show remorse for what they did to the Zambians. It’s wise for them to keep away from any form of trouble now,” Chanda said.

He stated that there was no way that the same people that ran down the economy would now start claiming that they can run the country better.

Chanda recalled that former President Lungu Lungu restricted President Hichilema and UPND from campaigning openly but still PF lost.

“What makes Mr Lungu and his PF think that in 2026 they can win? Stop using your court frustrations and hallucinations that you are now very popular,” he said.
