A 25-year-old man of Chiba Village in Kasama District, Northern Province, has died after being attacked by known people in what police suspect to be a murder case.
Northern Province Police Commanding Officer, Lucky Munkondya, said in a statement on Wednesday that the deceased, identified as Samuel Muwowo, was discovered unconscious on Tuesday night at Chiba School grounds with a deep cut on the head.

Munkondya narrated that the uncle to the deceased, Stephen Sinkamba, was alerted by members of the public and rushed to the scene before reporting the matter to police.
“The officers later picked up the victim and rushed him to Kasama General Hospital where he received treatment,” she said.
However, Muwowo died on Wednesday morning around 06:00 hours.
Munkondya added that police had since instituted investigations into the matter.
