Yango shares top 2025 trends in Zambia

● Economy Reigns Supreme: The Economy tariff became the top choice among Yango Ride passengers in 2025. Affordable and dependable rides established themselves as the preferred option for daily travel throughout Zambia. Zambians love their ‘’Nshima’’ but an affordable way to get to Mpoto Yatu, they love more.

● With nearly 1,500 rides, one passenger has set a new record in Zambia: Some individuals have truly integrated Yango into their daily lives. The remarkable achievement includes a single passenger taking an astounding 1,475 trips in just one year—averaging over four rides each day! Wow!

● Toyota Vitz was everywhere: In 2025, one car was frequently seen on Lusaka roads — the Toyota Vitz became the most booked vehicle through Yango Ride . With its fuel efficiency, reliability and low running costs, this car was the most popular among partners and drivers while loved by passengers.

● Which areas did Zambians visit the most? – Shopping malls and bus terminals topped the list of most popular destinations in 2025. Passengers often went to:

● Central Business District, Lusaka Inter-City Bus Terminus

● Chongwe, Kapwayambale

● Kafue, Chisankane

● Great East Road, East Park Shopping Mall

● The Kwacha King & Queen: The most expensive trip of the year was ZMW 19,417, highlighting the high earning opportunities available through Yango for partner drivers while also reiterating that Yango caters to every kind of mobility needs— whether it’s a short trip to East Park or a long trip to Kitwe, you’re sorted.

● Airport trips: Travel picked up pace in 2025, with 54,094 airport trips booked through the Yango superapp. From early-morning departures to late-night arrivals, Yango helped riders get to and from the airport with ease.

● Crunchy and Tasty : The most ordered food item on Yango was Big bite 2 (chicken pieces+chips+drink) from Hungry Lion. We just hope the big bites satisfied all the cravings.
● Lost but found items: Yes, Zambians forget a lot of things from food to memorabilia. The most common things left behind in a Yango ride were a basket of eggs ,Cooking oil , a djembe drum , soccer balls, a clay pot, a portrait of Kalusha Bwalya and a portable speaker.

● Moving something? Or somewhere?: Through the Cargo option in Yango Delivery, the most common use case was to move furniture.

● Impact : In 2025, Yango impacted over 11,000 young Zambians with social responsibility initiatives such as road safety training , distribution of safety equipment like reflective wristbands and t-shirts.supporting young boys to achieve their football dream through the Nkata Football tournament in Kalingalinga.

Other initiatives included career day visits to Matero Girls School and the sponsorship of the EYGD and Be Relevant career fairs. The first cohort of 30 Yango STEM fellows also graduated while the entire fellowship was expanded to include 6 more countries with Zambia included again.

● Safety : Yango reiterated its commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all partner drivers, couriers ,passengers and everyone who utilizes the platform by introducing the ‘’My Area’’ feature on the app. The new safety center displays a list of essential measures for passengers, which includes reading onboarding materials, filling in users information, adding trusted contacts, taking a selfie, or updating their email. Yango also held training and health screening initiatives for partner drivers and couriers.
