The Zambia Police Service says it has arrested seven men in connection with the murder and aggravated robbery of Chaminuka Resort Chief Executive Officer, Stelios Sardinis, aged 64.
The incident occurred between 01:00 and 01:15 hours on August 9, 2026 at Chaminuka Lodge in Chisamba District.
In a statement issued in Lusaka on Wednesday, Police Spokesperson, Godfrey Chilabi, said all seven suspects were residents of Lusaka and were currently in police custody.
“Four suspects were apprehended earlier, while three others were apprehended on August 11, 2026, in Lusaka,” Chilabi said.
Investigations are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder and aggravated robbery, as well as the role of each suspect.

He urged members of the public not to speculate on the motive of the crime.
“The Zambia Police Service cautions members of the public against attributing political motives to the matter without verified information. This is a serious criminal investigation involving the loss of life and must be allowed to proceed professionally,” Chilabi said.
He also warned against the spread of rumours, particularly on social media.
“Members of the public are urged to refrain from spreading rumours or unverified information, particularly on social media, as this may affect the investigation and cause further emotional distress to the family of the deceased,” Chilabi stated.
He said further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
