The new government team consists of 22 members, including the Head of Government, Ministers and the Secretary General of the Government, as well as 10 delegated ministers.

Among the main appointments, Abdelouafi Laftit retains the portfolio of the Interior, Nasser Bourita the Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, while Abdellatif Ouahbi remains Minister of Justice.

One of the main additions to this government team is the creation of a ministry dedicated to artificial intelligence, digital transformation and administrative reform, entrusted to Ahmed Rahhou.

Speaking to the press after the government’s appointment ceremony, Morocco’s new Head of Government, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, said that her cabinet brings together four political parties and combines experience, women’s representation and youth participation, expressing confidence in its ability to meet citizens’ expectations.

She also added that the four parties forming the governing majority had previously worked together from different positions, but shared sufficiently close political outlooks and programs to facilitate the preparation of an ambitious government agenda.

The program, she said, is intended to address the major challenges identified by King Mohammed VI in his Throne Day speech and his address opening the parliamentary session, with a focus on practical solutions to issues affecting Moroccans.

Mansouri expressed optimism about the measures included in the program, which is due to be presented to both chambers of Parliament for approval. She said it offered hope to citizens and provided responses to a range of pressing challenges.

On the government’s immediate priorities, Mansouri said work would begin following the presentation of the government program before Parliament, with the implementation of public policies expected to have a positive impact on Moroccans’ daily lives.

She pledged that the new cabinet would act with responsibility, commitment and seriousness, stressing that citizens were asking the government to deliver tangible results.
