Police in Lusaka have arrested 21-year-old Ezekiel Zimba in connection with an aggravated robbery reported on August 16, 2025, at Garden Police Post by Abhay Gujar, a 37-year-old Indian national residing in Olympia, Lusaka.
According to Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Chipo Kaitisha, Zimba, along with three unidentified accomplices, attacked Gujar—his former employee—with machetes and screwdrivers, stealing $1,200, K2,000, and property valued at K48,759.
“We wish to inform the public that on August 17, 2025, at 10:00 hours, officers apprehended the prime suspect, Ezekiel Zimba, aged 21, of House No. 133/08, Old Ng’ombe Compound,” Kaitisha said.

Zimba is currently in police custody. During the arrest, officers recovered two mobile phones believed to be stolen: a Samsung Galaxy M33 valued at K6,000 and an iPhone 8 Plus valued at K3,500.
Efforts to apprehend the remaining three suspects are ongoing, and the Zambia Police Service is pursuing all leads to bring them to justice, authorities said.
Kaitisha thanked the public for their continued cooperation and urged anyone with information to come forward.
