Nakacinda urges PF to marry demand for change with strong party machinery ahead of 2026 polls

The Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary-General, Raphael Nakacinda, has urged members of the party to combine the popular demand for change with a strong party machine ahead of the 2026 elections.

Addressing party structures at the PF Secretariat in Lusaka on Tuesday, Nakacinda reminded members that while the PF had always been a people’s movement carried by the “wind of change,” the time had come to match that momentum with solid organisation, credible structures, and transparent processes.

“We must combine the wind of change blowing in the country with a well-organised machinery capable of protecting and delivering victory,” he said.

He outlined a clear roadmap for mobilisation that includes strengthening branches, registering new members, and deploying trained observers to every polling station to ensure that every vote is properly counted and protected.

Nakacinda stressed that the sacrifices made by many PF members, some of whom have endured persecution and jail time, should not be wasted by infighting or unmanaged ambition.

He called for discipline, focus, and a united effort to confront the real challenges facing Zambians.

“This is not a game. It is a life-and-death situation for our future. We must register our people, especially the youth, and we must stand guard at polling stations until the last vote is counted,” Nakacinda declared.

He also pledged to ensure that the process of selecting candidates was fair, open, and transparent, reinforcing the party’s commitment to democracy and accountability.

The PF Secretary-General reminded members that change was within reach if the PF remained united and committed to serving the people.

“We will support honest ambition, but we will manage it for the good of the party. Our focus is on victory for Zambia. Together, we can and will make it happen,” Nakacinda assured.
