The Zambia Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Lusaka businessman Harry Valden Findlay, aged 63, who was arrested on March 31, 2026, in connection with an alleged offence of espionage.

Police spokesperson, Godfrey Chilabi, said Findlay is currently in custody while investigations continue.

In a statement issued in Lusaka on Wednesday, Chilabi said more details would be availed as the inquiry progresses.

According to initial reports, more than 15 unidentified men, travelling in six small vehicles, stormed Findlay’s premises on Tuesday afternoon.

They allegedly bundled him into one of the vehicles and sped off in full view of his wife and children.

The men were only later identified as officers from the Central Investigations Division, who also confiscated his laptop.

Findlay was taken to the Force Headquarters, where he was reportedly questioned for several hours.

Officers are said to have accused him of funding Brian Mundubile, leader of the Tonse Alliance, a claim Findlay allegedly denied, stating he had not seen or communicated with Mundubile since 2024.

Later that night, Findlay was transferred to Kabwata Police Station, where officers recorded in the Occurrence Book that he was being investigated for espionage.
