APC’s Msoni urges International Criminal Court to monitor Zambia’s human rights record

All Peoples Congress (APC) president, Nason Msoni, has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to pay close attention to what he describes as the “unraveling lawlessness” in Zambia, allegedly instigated and financed by individuals expected to safeguard life and property.

“As we head to the general elections slated for August 2026, it is becoming increasingly clear that those who have lost the argument for remaining in government have resorted to sponsoring violence,” Msoni stated in a statement on Sunday.

He said the conduct of ruling party supporters was worrying, adding that “we might have persons of interest at the end of the electoral process.”

Msoni stressed that Zambia remained a democracy where violence had no place in a civilized society.

“Those who think that they can spill blood in their desperation for power and get away with it must be held accountable for their actions,” he said.

He added that it would be unfortunate for the country to reach a point where “any of our citizens [are] indicated and extradited to the Hague.”
