Arsenal secured a vital 2–1 home win over Chelsea on Sunday in a tense Premier League London derby at the Emirates Stadium, restoring their five-point lead at the top.
Arsenal opened the scoring in the 21st minute when William Saliba met a corner with a powerful header to put the hosts ahead.
Chelsea responded just before halftime when defender Piero Hincapie inadvertently turned into his own net from a Reece James corner to level the score.
In a match reported by Sky Sports, the second half was cagey, with chances at both ends but few clear openings as both teams fought for control of midfield.

The decisive goal arrived in the 66th minute when Jurrien Timber rose highest to head home from a corner and send the Emirates crowd into raptures.
Chelsea’s challenge was made harder soon after when Pedro Neto was shown a second yellow card and sent off, leaving the Blues with ten men.
Despite late pressure from Chelsea, Arsenal defended resolutely to preserve their lead and secure the three points.
The result gave Arsenal a crucial boost in the title race, while Chelsea will have to regroup after a narrow derby defeat.
