Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has revised upwards the pump prices of diesel, petrol, kerosene and Jet A-1 for the month of October, 2025.

Petrol has been increased to K30.58 from K29.18 per litre while diesel will cost K26.20 from K26.02 per litre as kerosene and Jet A-1 have moved from K23.64 to K24.78, K25.83 to K27.11 per litre respectively.

In a statement, ERB board chairperson, James Banda, said since the last price review on August 31, 2025, the international oil price of diesel increased by 0.70 percent, from US$84.26 per barrel to US$84.85 /bbl.

Banda added that petrol increased by 2.56 percent, from US$74.32 bbl to US$76.22 /bbl while kerosene/Jet-A1 went up by 1.16 percent, from US$82.04 /bbl to US$82.99 /bbl.

He said both monthly and slate exchange rates depreciated during the pricing period.

“The combined effect of the depreciation of the Kwacha against the United States Dollar and the increase in the international oil prices have influenced the price decision for the October, 2025 domestic price review,” he said.

The prices will be in effect on October 1, 2025 and will remain in effect until revised by the ERB.
