Chelsea were held to a dramatic 1–1 draw by struggling Burnley at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League clash on Saturday.

The Blues came into the match aiming to strengthen their bid for a Champions League place, having been frustrated by dropped points in recent weeks, while Burnley sat perilously close to the relegation zone, desperate for anything to lift their survival hopes.

According to ESPN, Chelsea made the perfect start, racing into an early lead in the fourth minute when João Pedro finished from close range after quick, incisive attacking interplay inside the Burnley box.

Despite dominating possession and territory through the opening stages, Chelsea were unable to extend their advantage, as Burnley’s defence showed resilience and occasionally threatened on the counter, forcing the hosts to remain alert into half-time.

The second half saw momentum shift as the visitors grew in belief, with Burnley pushing higher and forcing Chelsea into uncomfortable moments.

Chelsea’s discipline cracked when Wesley Fofana was sent off, reducing the hosts to ten men and changing the dynamic of the contest.

In stoppage time, Burnley’s pressure culminated in Zian Flemming’s composed finish, as he found the net to level the score and spark jubilant celebrations among the travelling supporters.

The draw left Chelsea slightly adrift in the top-four chase, with dropped points at home proving costly in a tightly contested race for European qualification, while Burnley will took heart from their spirited comeback.
