The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has heard that DNA samples have been collected to determine whether a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) soldier accused of sexually abusing his daughter is the father of a baby allegedly conceived from the offence.
At a previous sitting, the court granted the accused’s application for a DNA test to establish paternity after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of incest.
The accused applied for the test concerning a baby boy born on May 1, 2025.

During proceedings on Monday, the court heard that samples had been collected from the accused, the victim, and the baby, and that the State was awaiting results.
The matter was adjourned to April 20, 2026, for a status update on the DNA results from an expert.
The accused, a 41-year-old Zambia Air Force soldier, is charged with one count of incest contrary to Section 159(1) of the Penal Code.
It is alleged that he defiled and impregnated his 14-year-old biological daughter between August 1 and 31, 2024.
The accused has denied the charge.
