Ecobank Zambia has been recognised for its commitment to measurable and sustainable corporate social responsibility at the 2026 CSR Network Zambia Annual Conference and Awards held in Lusaka.

The conference, held on February 18–19 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, brought together corporates and social enterprises under the theme “Then What?”, which urged organisations to move beyond good intentions and deliver impact-driven initiatives.

Participants examined whether CSR projects were addressing real community needs and generating long-term benefits.

Glenda Kamalata, Ecobank Zambia’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, said CSR must be “deliberate, measurable and transformative,” adding that the bank’s programmes were aligned with community priorities to ensure lasting value.

At the February 20 awards ceremony, Ecobank Zambia received the Best Digital Inclusion Programme award for refurbishing and upgrading the IT laboratory at UTH Special School, which serves children with disabilities.

The project included installing modern computers, ergonomic furniture and high-speed Starlink internet to enhance digital learning and reduce technology access barriers.

The bank’s Managing Director, Aina Moore, was also named Responsible Chief Executive Officer of the Year for integrating sustainability and social responsibility into the institution’s strategy.

Under her leadership, Ecobank Zambia has implemented initiatives in education, health and community empowerment.

Moore said the recognition validated the bank’s approach and reinforced its commitment to delivering measurable outcomes in the communities it serves.

Ecobank Zambia, part of the pan-African Ecobank Group operating in 33 countries, said it would continue implementing purpose-driven programmes aimed at advancing inclusive growth and sustainable development across Zambia.
