Evanilson strike ends Spurs’ strong start as Bournemouth shine in London

Evanilson’s early strike gave Bournemouth a deserved victory over Tottenham, ending Spurs’ strong Premier League start under Thomas Frank.

Despite being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brentford in midweek, the Cherries showed energy and invention, pressing high and unsettling Spurs throughout.

According to the BBC, Marco Senesi set up the opener as Evanilson’s low shot deflected off Cristian Romero and looped past Guglielmo Vicario.

Bournemouth went on to dominate, creating multiple chances, with Antoine Semenyo and David Brooks both going close, while Spurs’ first shot on target came in the 68th minute.

Though Tottenham applied some late pressure, Andoni Iraola’s side stood firm to claim a statement win, moving level on points with their hosts after three matches.
