Former Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency Director-General, Victor Nyasulu, has joined the Citizens First (CF) party and announced plans to pursue the Lusaka mayoral seat.

Nyasulu lost the 2021 mayoral election as a candidate of the United Party for National Development.

He was welcomed to the party during a media briefing at the CF secretariat in Lusaka on Tuesday by party Secretary General Vincent Chintu.

Nyasulu outlined what he described as an ambitious plan to transform Lusaka.

“The city must serve the people, just as government serves the nation. Lusaka used to be far more functional and effectively managed, and we must return it to that standard. I am still standing for Lusaka Mayor,” he said.

Welcoming Nyasulu to the party, Chintu said Citizens First remained open to new members and expressed confidence in Nyasulu’s leadership potential.

“It is up to Zambians to come up with new ideas and push the country to greater heights,” Chintu said.

He also called on other members of the public to join the party and support its leader Harry Kalaba, whom he described as reliable and committed to national development.
