Zambian filmmaker Wyclif Mwamba says he has lost an NGO brand ambassadorship and a major movie sponsorship deal following a series of allegations posted online by blogger Kondwani Banda, popularly known as Uncle Koko.
Banda, citing complaints he said were sent to his inbox, claimed the filmmaker had failed to pay his cast and crew on recent projects, provided poor meals during production, and refused to reimburse funds invested in his films by Prescious Chichi, allegedly blocking her afterwards.
He also made a series of personal accusations, including claims of sexual misconduct involving Mwamba’s maids and cast members — allegations that the filmmaker has strongly denied as false and defamatory.
Mwamba said the fallout has had an immediate financial and professional impact.
“My super fans, I regret to inform you that I might not be able to do the movie I was planning to do with the mighty actress Ruth Kadiri. The sponsors who were supposed to invest in the project have pulled out due to today’s allegations on the Facebook page by Kondwani Banda,” he wrote, accompanied by crying emojis.
The filmmaker said he did not intend to confront the blogger directly but will instead pursue action against former crew members who he believed supplied Banda with information.
He added that the allegations had strained personal relationships, including within his household, saying one of his maids was assaulted by her husband as a result of the rumours and that the situation had left his wife distressed.

Mwamba said the claims also cost him a brand ambassadorship with an NGO.
“My super fans, we have reported… The law will set us free. So far today, I have lost a job from an NGO where I was supposed to be the brand ambassador because of the ‘rape accusations and taking advantage of ama maids’. But my GOD will vindicate me because HE’S a GOD of justice, and soon you will know the enemies of the film industry that we are suffering to build,” he wrote.
He said he has reported the matter to the Zambia Police Service in Ndola.
“My super fans, we have reported. The law will set us free. So far today, I have lost a job from an NGO where I was supposed to be the brand ambassador because of the accusations,” he added in another post.
Since his release from detention in Kenya, Banda has continued sharing allegations about various public figures on his platforms. Mwamba says he believes he is simply the blogger’s latest target.
