Guehi’s late header sends Crystal Palace into Premier League top four, as Fulham fall 1-2 at home

Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi scored a dramatic late header to seal a 2–1 victory over Fulham and lift the Eagles into the Premier League’s top four.

An entertaining and evenly balanced contest at Craven Cottage looked destined to finish level until Guehi rose to meet a corner with three minutes of normal time remaining, securing back-to-back away wins for Oliver Glasner’s side.

Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring for Palace after 20 minutes with a confident finish, before Harry Wilson equalised seven minutes before the break with a superb curling effort.

Both teams searched for a winner in the second half but lacked the decisive final touch until Guehi’s intervention.

In a match reported by the BBC Sports, Fulham thought they had taken the lead late on when Emile Smith Rowe tapped in a rebound after Alex Iwobi’s header struck the bar, but Samuel Chukwueze was ruled narrowly offside in the build-up and the goal was disallowed.

The defeat is Fulham’s second of the week following a nine-goal thriller against Manchester City on Tuesday, leaving Marco Silva’s side 15th in the table and four points above the relegation zone.

Palace have at times struggled to balance Premier League and European commitments, but Glasner’s team continue to find solutions — and a Champions League challenge now looks a realistic possibility.
