President Hakainde Hichilema has confirmed holding an official audience with His Majesty King Charles III at Dumfries House, the private royal residence of the United Kingdom monarch in Glasgow, Scotland.
The President, who is in the UK for a three-day tour, said discussions with the King focused on areas of mutual interest between Zambia and the UK, particularly sustainable natural resource management.
He noted that the cause was close to the King’s heart, guided by the principle of humans living in harmony with nature.
This was contained in a statement posted on the Head of State’s official social media handle on Thursday.
“Zambia remains committed to strengthening partnerships with countries like the UK and with leaders like His Majesty, to secure initiatives and financing that will support development projects and create real opportunities for our people,” he said.
Hichilema emphasized that such partnerships were critical for advancing sustainable growth, jobs, and prosperity at home.
He expressed gratitude to the King for his warm welcome, invitation, and gracious hospitality during his stay in Glasgow.
“From here, we continue to London for further discussions with investors and the UK Government, as we work to bring tangible benefits to every Zambian,” he added.
