President Hakainde Hichilema has said that the recently concluded by-elections were conducted peacefully in various parts of the country.
He commended political parties, law enforcement agencies, and all stakeholders for fostering a calm and orderly environment throughout the electoral process.
This is according to a statement issued in Lusaka on Friday by State House Communications Specialist, Clayson Hamasaka.
The President urged Zambians to uphold the same spirit of peace and maturity in areas where campaign activities were still underway.
He also extended special thanks to the UPND campaign teams, crediting them for securing victories in all contested wards.
“The landslide victories in favour of the UPND reflect the people’s growing confidence in the New Dawn Government’s commitment to improving the lives of all Zambians,” he said.

Hichilema reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering development and doing what is right for the people.
However, he expressed concern over the tone of some opposition campaigns, describing their rhetoric as rooted in falsehoods, hate speech, and mockery of citizens.
“As a country, we must reject divisive messages designed to stir up emotions and instead focus on ideas and policies that can truly improve our lives,” he stated.
He urged all political players to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence, stressing that Zambia’s democracy thrives when citizens engage in respectful political competition.
