President Hakainde Hichilema will travel to the United Kingdom this week for a three-day working visit, during which he will have an audience with King Charles III in Scotland at the invitation of the King, the Presidency has announced.

State House Chief Communications Specialist, Clayson Hamasaka, said Zambia and the United Kingdom enjoyed a long-standing relationship that dates back to the pre-independence era and has since grown into wide-ranging cooperation across multiple sectors.

Hamasaka, in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday, said the visit would provide an opportunity to reaffirm and strengthen the ties, with a clear focus on delivering tangible benefits for the Zambian people.

He said that while in London President Hichilema would attend an investment-focused forum, bringing together business leaders and policy stakeholders to explore opportunities for deeper economic collaboration.

“These engagements were aimed at unlocking investment flows, creating quality jobs, and supporting sustainable growth in Zambia,” Hamasaka said.

He stated that the President would also hold a series of meetings with the UK government officials in London to advance discussions on trade, development, and partnership initiatives.

Hamasaka said each of these dialogues would feed into the government’s broader mission of transforming Zambia into a competitive economy and delivering sustainable growth.

“Promoting economic diplomacy remains a central pillar of President Hichilema’s administration,” he said.
