Israel has confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in strikes on Saturday, according to two Israeli sources familiar with the matter.
One of the sources said Israel had obtained a photo of Khamenei’s dead body. The second source said an official announcement is being prepared. Israel has not shared evidence of his death.
Earlier in the evening, Benjamin Netanyahu said there are many signs that Khamenei is “no longer with us.”

Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Iran’s president and Supreme Leader are “safe and sound.” However, Khamenei has not appeared in public or in videos since the strikes began.
According to the CNN, Donald Trump said Iran’s Supreme Leader was killed in today’s massive U.S. and Israeli attack, which he said will continue with heavy bombing throughout the week. Iran has claimed its leaders remain “safe and sound.”
Trump said the military operation is aimed at overturning Tehran’s government. According to state media, more than 200 people have been killed in Iran.
Iran launched strikes on U.S. military bases, Israel, and other targets across the Middle East, hitting densely populated areas and disrupting air travel and oil shipments.
The U.S. military reported no combat-related American casualties. FBI counterterrorism teams are on high alert, and the U.S. State Department advised American citizens worldwide to “exercise increased caution.”
United Arab Emirates called the conflict a “historic moment” in the Middle East, saying world leaders had failed to ensure regional stability.
