Police in Kasama, Northern Province, have arrested a man suspected of raping and killing a 52-year-old woman in Kasama.
The victim was found dead and partially naked inside her home, lying in the living room—a scene suggesting she was sexually assaulted before being murdered.
Northern Province Police Commanding Officer, Lucky Munkhondya, said that upon receiving the report, a Brought In Dead (BID) form was issued, and the body was deposited at Kasama General Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination.
“The arrest has been made, and the suspect will appear in court soon,” Munkhondya stated.
