Manchester City fought back to win 2–1 away at Liverpool in a thrilling Premier League clash at Anfield, overturning a late deficit with goals from Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland to take all three points.

Liverpool went into the game looking to close the gap on the Premier League leaders and build pressure at the top of the table, while Man City arrived aiming to keep pace in the title race and stay within striking distance of Arsenal.

In a match reported by The Guardian, the first half at Anfield was tight and cagey, with both sides struggling to create clear chances as Liverpool defended resolutely and City looked to control possession in advanced areas.

It was not until the second half that the deadlock was broken, with Dominik Szoboszlai producing a sublime free-kick in the 74th minute, a stunning strike that gave Liverpool the lead and sparked wild celebrations among the home crowd.

Manchester City responded with urgency, and Bernardo Silva fired home in the 84th minute after a clever attacking move to level the scores and shift momentum back toward the visitors.

As stoppage time ticked on, City were awarded a penalty after a foul on Matheus Nunes, and Erling Haaland calmly converted in the 90+3rd minute, sending the away fans into raptures and completing a dramatic comeback.

Liverpool pushed forward in the final moments seeking an equaliser, but City’s defence held firm to protect their narrow lead and secure the victory, with both goalkeepers called into action in the closing stages.

The win is a significant boost for Manchester City’s Premier League title hopes, keeping them close to the summit and showing resilience in a high-pressure encounter, while Liverpool’s quest to climb higher was dealt a late blow.
