Lusaka business expo set to highlight local value chains across various sectors

The Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has highlighted the need to harness local value chains across various sectors, citing numerous investment opportunities across Lusaka Province and the country.

Chamber President, Alexander Lawrence, emphasized the importance of leveraging Lusaka’s regional presence and upscaling industrial development in the province.

Lawrence made the remarks ahead of a preparatory meeting for the 2026 Lusaka Business Indaba and Expo.

“The construction of the Lusaka–Ndola dual carriageway road is a milestone in further opening up Lusaka Province to investment opportunities,” Lawrence noted.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Principal Public Relations Officer Logic Lukwanda said the Business Indaba and Expo is expected to be attended by Hakainde Hichilema.

Lukwanda explained that the LCCI will bring together professionals and business entities committed to driving private-sector-led development through advocacy, networking, and capacity-building.

“Recognizing the critical role of public-private partnerships in unlocking Zambia’s economic potential, LCCI and the Lusaka Provincial Administration have forged a strengthened collaboration,” he said.

“The event is anchored on creating wealth through local value chains, facilitating Business-to-Business (B2B) engagements, and expanding market access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs),” he said.

He added that this year’s theme reflected government’s agenda of leveraging digital transformation and sustainable partnerships to boost competitiveness, enhance productivity, and drive socio-economic development across sectors.

Additionally, the Expo aims to increase access to information for MSMEs and local investors, drive province-led development through stakeholder dialogue, and foster partnerships between foreign investors and local enterprises.

“The overall goal is to provide Lusaka’s business community, alongside regional and international participants, a platform to showcase products and services, forge partnerships, share solutions, and expand access to emerging markets,” Lukwanda said.
