Mpoto family gets free tickets to stadium after images of support for Chipolopolo goes viral

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has granted complimentary tickets for all Chipolopolo 2026 World Cup home qualifier matches to a family in Lusaka after an image of them using kitchen utensils to drum support for the national team during the Congo Brazzaville match.

The decision was announced by FAZ General-Secretary, Reuben Kamanga, at Football House in Lusaka on November 20, 2023, recognizing the family for upholding positive values, discouraging violence at stadiums, and their unwavering dedication to both the Zambia men’s and women’s national team.

This came after photographer and lawyer, Lovemore Kabwata, through his Facebook handle, emphasized the deserving nature of the incentives for their commitment which involved watching matches and traveling to support their team.

“Dear Football Association of Zambia I think the Mpoto Family deserves incentives. Free Tickets. Jerseys. The Mpoto family watches football. Travels for football” Kabwata stated.

“Others don’t do that but you give them incentives. I’m sure you enjoy using us on your adverts.”
