Netizens split on Jay Rox’s new look

Multi talented artiste and television producer, Jay Rox, whose real name is Jackson Ng’ambi has unveiled a new look, with social media divided over the development.

Jay Rox who is known for his trademark dreadlocks, an image he has maintained for close to a decade, cut off the hair and now has an afro.

The Headphone Music founder posted a picture showing his new look.

“New Year, New Look. #ItsRoxa,” read the accompanying caption.

However, some social media users did not approve of the new look.

“It’s a no for me,” a fan posted under the comment section.

Another fan posted: “We gonna miss that look.🥲”

Some took it a step too personal.

“Vaupuba last as for me I was following you because of hair and your real African style. it’s hight time I unfollow you now cause they’s nothing attractive on you 😢this is coming deep down from my heart disappointed fan Jay Rox jah bless,” posted a disappointed fan.

Regardless, a fair number of comments welcomed the look.

“Love it 👌 I was looking forward to it me am happy 💃..I loved the Jay Rox without dreads and now hz back 😊,” wrote a fan.

Even though opinions were split, a good number of people had no problem with the new hairstyle.

“Looking great. Like the old young version of you,” read a comment under the post.

A fan simply wrote: “It’s Roxa.. mvesesani . Looks good.”

As if that was not enough to break the internet, Jay Rox had recreated late legendary Kalindula artiste PK Chishala’s ‘Church Elder’ album cover.

Channeling Chishala on the image, Ng’ambi is seen wearing shades, spotting a black jacket, a white shirt and a bow tie with a caption reading: “I’ve always wanted to recreate this PK Chishala artwork. So now that the dreads are out, I figured let’s go for it.”
