Nigeria swept into the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a dominant 4-0 victory over Mozambique in Fes.
The Super Eagles asserted control from the outset, with talisman Victor Osimhen seeing an effort ruled out for offside inside the opening two minutes.
Their early pressure paid off in the 20th minute when Ademola Lookman curled home from Akor Adams’ cutback to open the scoring.

In a match reported by the BBC Sports, the Nigeria doubled their lead five minutes later as Osimhen finished from close range after Alex Iwobi’s incisive midfield run released Lookman, whose low cross took a slight deflection off Adams.
Mozambique, appearing in the knockout stage for the first time, struggled to cope with Nigeria’s intensity and posed little attacking threat.
Osimhen struck again early in the second half, tapping in at the back post from Lookman’s clever delivery to make it 3-0.
Adams then capped an impressive performance by firing home Nigeria’s fourth in the 75th minute following another strong move involving Lookman.
Nigeria, who could have scored more, will face either Algeria or DR Congo in Saturday’s quarter-final in Marrakech.
