Nigeria advanced to the Africa Cup of Nations semifinals after second-half goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams secured a commanding 2–0 win over Algeria in their quarterfinal clash on Saturday.

Osimhen opened the scoring just two minutes after the restart, steering in a long cross from Bruno Onyemaechi as Algeria goalkeeper Luca Zidane misjudged his leap and allowed the effort to drift past him.

In a match reported by Al Jazeera, Nigeria doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Osimhen unselfishly set up Adams, who rounded Zidane and calmly slotted the ball into an empty net.

The Super Eagles delivered a dominant performance at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, pressing aggressively, winning duels, and denying Algeria a single clear scoring opportunity.

The victory comes just two months after Nigeria’s disappointment in failing to qualify for the World Cup, marking a strong turnaround as they now set up a semifinal showdown with tournament hosts Morocco.
