The Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) has launched a special compliance campaign to mark Zambia’s 61 years of independence.
Under the initiative, which runs from October 1 to November 30, 2025, PACRA will waive one year of outstanding Annual Returns for businesses that have defaulted for two years or more.
The campaign is aimed at helping enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to regularise their compliance status and avoid deregistration.
“Clients are encouraged to take advantage of this waiver by settling their outstanding Annual Returns through the PACRA Portal,” the Agency said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
PACRA emphasised that both the Business Names Act and the Companies Act empowered the Agency to deregister entities that fail to file Annual Returns for two consecutive years, hence the need for businesses to act promptly.
The Agency noted that as Zambia celebrated 61 years of independence, the campaign provided an opportunity for the business community to secure their legal standing, strengthen their operations, and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
