Two members of the same family have been found dead in a house in Kasama under unclear circumstances.
Police in Kasama are investigating a case in which two family members were found unconscious and later died.
The deceased have been identified as brothers Harryton, aged 27, and Joshua Mbeleko, both from Lusaka.
Northern Province Commanding Officer, Lucky Munkhondya, said in a statement on Tuesday that in October 2025, on an unknown date, the two brothers were contracted by Soab Marja and Imran Munshi, both Indian nationals, to install fitment equipment at Lunzuwa Bakery in Kasama.
Munkhondya said the two were accommodated in a house in Kasama’s Central Town.

“Since the said date the two were accommodated in Central town until on Saturday January3, 2026 around 12:00 hours when Mr. Marja went to the same house with a view of servicing a vehicle and wanted the two now deceased persons to help him,”
She explained that Marja, together with two other workers, checked the room after the deceased failed to report for work and found them unconscious.
They were immediately rushed to Kasama General Hospital, where they later died while admitted.
Munkhondya revealed that an inquiry file has been opened and investigations are currently underway.
