Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti says Parliament is ready to resume the debate on the Constitution review process and that it was waiting for right signal to proceed.
Mutti also claimed that there was a general plea from the Chiefs for the government to go ahead with the constitutional review process in order to allow for the delimitation of Constituencies which were too vast for a single Member of Parliament.
According to a statement issued in Lusaka on Thursday by Nshamba Muzungu, the National Assembly Senior Media Liason Officer, Mutti said this at the conclusion of her 5-day tour of Constituency Offices in Muchinga Province.

“The Speaker has observed that the people in the province were happy with the impact that the increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocated to each constituency has on the development agenda of the constituencies,” Muzungu said.
Muzungu reported that Mutti toured all the constituence offices in the province which include Kanchibiya, Mfuwe, Mpika, Shiwangandu, Chinsali, Isoka, Mafinga and Nakonce Constituencies.
“During her tour, Speaker Mutti also commissioned the Kanchibiya Constituency Office which was constructed using CDF thereby highlighting the impact that CDF is having on local communities,” Muzungu said.
