Techbytes: KNOT Technologies raises $1 million to transform AI-Powered ticketing (Techafricanews)

KNOT Technologies has secured a US$1 million pre-seed round led by A15 to scale its AI-driven ticketing and access control platform, aiming to overhaul how identity, distribution, and value flow in live events.

For decades, legacy ticketing systems have reportedly left organisers blind to demand, exposed fans to fraud, and funneled billions into unregulated resale markets.

KNOT believes this is not inevitable, but a data problem that AI can solve.
The company’s founders—who bring experience from Meta, Goldman Sachs, and Mubadala—conducted extensive research with rights holders, venues, and operators across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, reports Techafricanews.

They found legacy systems consistently offered limited visibility, enabled revenue leakage to secondary markets, and pushed fans toward unsafe resale channels.

KNOT’s platform uses an AI layer to authenticate identity, govern ticket distribution, and track demand in real time, helping organisers restrict unauthorized transfers, recover lost revenue, and build transparent relationships with attendees.

After an early rollout, KNOT has already secured over 50 enterprise customers and is emerging from stealth mode.

Ahmed Abdalla, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder said ticketing has become a financial black hole, with value leaking into unregulated channels and no modern tools to prevent it.

“The technical challenge is significant, but staying ahead of adaptive fraud requires systems that learn faster than the threats they face. Our technology has the potential to create value far beyond ticketing,” added Hussein ElBendak, CTO and co-founder.

A15 sees KNOT as addressing a structural gap in a category dominated by pre-AI incumbents.

“We invested in KNOT because they’re tackling a complex global problem with a novel approach. Their technology could reshape trust and identity in ticketing, and they are uniquely positioned to lead this transformation,” said Karim Beshara, founder and managing partner at A15.

With the new funding, KNOT plans to expand product development, grow internationally, and deepen partner integrations, positioning itself as the infrastructure layer for the next generation of live events, delivering secure, seamless, and data-driven experiences for organisers, venues, and fans.
