United for a Better Zambia (UBZ) leader, Hector Soondo, has accused Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader, Sean Tembo, of attempting to create division within the Tonse Alliance by targeting senior opposition figures.
Soondo urged Mporokoso Constituency lawmaker, Brian Mundubile, to distance himself from Tembo’s alleged schemes to undermine Acting PF President and Tonse Alliance Chairperson Given Lubinda.
The UBZ leader said this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Friday following Tembo’s expressed sentiments in support of Mundubile’s presidency bid within the Alliance.
“Sean Tembo tried to use President Professor Dr. Dan Pule to stir conflict against Hon. Lubinda. After failing, he has now shifted his tactics to Hon. Mundubile,” Soondo said.

He warned that such interference, especially from someone outside PF, was harmful to the Alliance’s unity ahead of the 2026 elections.
“Hon. Lubinda is Acting President of the PF and Chairperson of the Alliance. It is irresponsible for Mr. Tembo to fuel divisions in a party he does not belong to,” Soondo said.
He emphasized that the Zambian people expected unity from the opposition and urged Tembo to stop his disruptive behavior.
“The Tonse Alliance remains Zambia’s best hope. We must not allow anyone to derail its mission with personal agendas,” Soondo said.
