United Party for National Development (UPND) Youth Chairman, Gilbert Liswaniso, has confirmed that the youths who attacked the Patriotic Front (PF) Secretariat in Lusaka were members of the ruling party.
Liswaniso said the youths are alleged to have come from Kanyama and were responsible for the fracas, but added that he does not know them individually.
He emphasized that their conduct does not reflect the party’s position, noting that the UPND does not tolerate acts of violence.

Speaking to Diamond TV, Liswaniso said the party will take disciplinary action against the suspects once they are identified.
He added that sanctions may include suspension from the party, stressing that such behaviour is unacceptable and goes against UPND values.
Police earlier indicated that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspects.
