Yango Zambia shares the spirit of Christmas with Fountain of Hope Orphanage

0

As part of its Christmas season community outreach, Yango Zambia, part of the global tech company Yango Group, has donated essential household and personal care supplies to Fountain of Hope Orphanage in Lusaka, spreading festive cheer while supporting the wellbeing of less privileged children during the holiday period.

The donation included personal care items, exercise books, cooking oil, mealie meal, rice, sugar, mattresses, and blankets, items selected to help the orphanage meet both immediate needs and provide comfort during the Christmas season.

The visit went beyond the delivery of supplies, with the Yango team spending the day celebrating Christmas with the children through games, shared activities, and a communal lunch.

Laughter, music, and interaction formed the heart of the celebration, reinforcing the importance of togetherness, care, and joy that defines the festive season.

Speaking during the Christmas visit, Kabanda Chewe, Country Head for Yango Zambia, said the initiative reflects Yango’s belief that Christmas is a time to give back in meaningful ways: “Christmas reminds us of the power of kindness, presence, and shared moments. While the donation supports practical needs, spending time with the children, sharing meals, and celebrating together is just as important. At Yango, we believe that real impact comes from showing up, especially during moments that matter most.”

Fountain of Hope representative, John Chabinga described the visit as a meaningful Christmas gesture that brought both support and joy to the home: “This celebration meant a great deal to our children. The donations will help us greatly, but the time spent playing, eating, and celebrating with the children made them feel loved and remembered during the festive season. We are grateful to Yango for choosing to share Christmas with us.”

The Christmas outreach builds on Yango’s wider commitment to social impact in Zambia, where the company has supported initiatives in STEM with the fellowship program, youth events such as the NKATA Africa Football tournament, driver safety and empowerment, and targeted assistance for vulnerable communities.

By marking the festive season through direct engagement and giving, Yango continues to align its growth with purpose, ensuring that as it connects people through technology, it also creates moments of care, warmth, and shared humanity within the communities it serves.
