Zambian musician, Yo Maps, has won the Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa award at the 9th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held in Lagos, Nigeria, marking a major milestone for Zambia’s music industry on the continental stage.
Yo Maps emerged victorious against strong competition from some of Southern Africa’s biggest names, including South Africa’s Nasty C and Tyler ICU, as well as Zimbabwe’s Jah Prayzah, underscoring his growing influence beyond Zambia’s borders.
The award was largely driven by the success of his chart-topping hit “Mr & Mrs,” which dominated airwaves across the region and resonated strongly with fans for its relatable lyrics and polished production.
