The Zambia National Service (ZNS) has suspended, Rhodah Njobvu, a commissioned officer and alleged president of the controversial Lesbian and Anti-Men Association of Zambia, following the circulation of explicit videos involving her.
ZNS Chief of Public Relations and Liaison, Brigadier General Mable Nyone, confirmed the suspension in a statement, stating that Njobvu would be placed on half salary as investigations by the Zambia Police get underway.
“This entails that she will not be officially performing ZNS duties and will be placed on half pay until the determination of her case by the courts of law,” Nyone said.
She added that the suspension is in accordance with ZNS disciplinary procedures and regulations.
The institution, she said, remained committed to working closely with law enforcement to ensure due process is followed.
“Depending on the outcome of the court proceedings, a final decision regarding her internal disciplinary case will be communicated to the public,” Nyone said.
She stressed that ZNS, as a disciplined institution, upholds the cultural values and ethical standards of the nation and expects all its personnel to adhere to conduct that reflects integrity, morality, and legality.
