Reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) International Bantamweight Champion David “Sniper” Mwale will defend his title against Tanzania’s Ramadan Abdullah Milonzi, Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions has announced.

The championship bout is scheduled to take place in Lusaka this month, according to Christopher Malunga.

Malunga confirmed the development in a statement issued in Lusaka on Tuesday.

“Ramadan Abdullah Milonzi is the approved WBC challenger, and this contest promises to be an exciting international showdown as Mwale puts his prestigious WBC belt on the line,” he said.

Malunga stated that the event reaffirmed Zambia’s growing presence on the global boxing stage and the continued commitment to delivering world-class boxing to fans.

“Further details regarding the fight week activities will be communicated in due course,” he said.

Malunga said the bout was originally scheduled for December but was rescheduled to January with the venue remaining unchanged.

He explained that the change in date followed the withdrawal of the previously announced opponent, Lusizo Manzana, who opted to pursue a bout for the South African National Title.
