Going into the match, Mufulira Wanderers have only managed to score three times and conceded 20 times from the past seven encounters against the bankers.

The home team inflicted the defeat courtesy of skipper Charles Zulu’s goal in the 53rd minute.

ZANACO held on for a win despite substitute John Ochieng being sent off in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, former Chipolopolo striker James Chamanga continued to sip water from the fountain of youth by scoring a 90th minute goal to make it two-nil for his side Red Arrows when they faced Trident FC at Nkholoma Stadium.

Chamanga keeps getting better with time like fine wine and despite being well into his 40s,the striker found the net deep into stoppage time.

With the score at one-nil courtesy of a Saddam Phiri goal in the 47th minute, the newly promoted team still had hope of salvaging an equaliser.

But the former Chipolopolo striker delivered a sucker punch that spelt game over for the newbies.

Meanwhile Police sponsored team Nkwazi FC played out a nil all stalemate against Green Buffaloes at Sunset Stadium in the double header.
