The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested and charged Joe Nsokolo, a Management Accountant at the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA), for alleged corruption involving more than K2.2 million.
Nsokolo, 40, of Plot No. 30541, Rockfield in Lusaka, has been slapped with 40 counts of Theft by a Public Servant contrary to Section 265, read together with Section 277 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
According to a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday by ACC Head of Corporate Communications, Timothy Moono, Nsokolo has further been charged with one count of Possession of Property Reasonably Suspected to be Proceeds of Crime contrary to Section 71 of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No. 19 of 2010.
“It is alleged that between January 1, 2022 and August 31, 2025, in Lusaka District, being a public officer, Nsokolo stole funds amounting to K2,263,106.61 from ZICA for personal gain,” Moono said.
He stated that the suspect has since been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
