The Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) of the United Kingdom, a move expected to enhance professional development and global recognition for Zambian marketers.

ZIM President, Mwewa Besa announced the collaboration during the institute’s 11th Graduation Ceremony at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

Besa said the partnership will allow professional marketers to obtain dual membership and qualifications through curriculum alignment, joint research, and student engagement.

“The collaboration will foster global recognition for ZIM qualifications while creating opportunities for our members to broaden their professional networks,” he said.

Addressing the graduates, Besa urged them to uphold high ethical standards, embrace innovation, and serve as problem solvers in Zambia’s economy.

He stressed that the nation’s development depends on their resilience, creativity, and professionalism.

He further thanked the government for its support, noting that it reflects recognition of the vital role professional bodies such as ZIM play in national development.

Commerce, Trade, and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga, who attended the event, commended ZIM for complementing government efforts to build a skilled workforce.

“The demands on public services are growing, and collaboration with professional bodies like ZIM is essential,” Mulenga said.

He reminded graduates that marketing has evolved beyond product promotion into a transformative force that drives growth and shapes economies.

“You are at the forefront of this transformation. Use your expertise to create positive change and help drive Zambia’s economy forward,” he challenged the graduating class.

Earlier, ZIM Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Danny Chanda, welcomed attendees and expressed pride in the graduates.

He noted a landmark achievement with the first-ever graduation of students under the Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing programme.

“You are pioneers stepping into a new era of marketing, and we are incredibly proud of your achievement,” Chanda said, urging graduates to embrace continuous learning, adaptability, and innovation.
