Copperbelt Province Minister, Elisha Matambo, claims that government’s free education policy is the reason the region has scored the highest at grades mine and seven.

Copperbelt has reportedly scored the best results in the country at both grade seven and grade nine.

Matambo said this at the Copperbelt 2023 Grade Seven and Nine Performance Review Meeting in Kitwe on Friday, saying that free education was a game changer in the education sector.

He expressed happiness to learn that the Province had come out tops at National level for the second time consecutively, adding that this was testimony of dedication and hard-work from both teachers and leaners.

Matambo acknowledged President Hakainde Hichilema’s role in placing priority on education.

He paid tribute to both teachers and all stakeholders and encouraged them to continue working hard as they respond to free Education Policy as well as many other policies in the education sector.
