House of Chiefs Chairperson, Chief Chisunka, has called for unity of purpose to achieve economic milestones.
The traditional leader said during a media briefing by Chiefs from Luapula and Copperbelt on Friday night in Ndola that there was need to reject divisive elements that were dividing people on tribal lines.
“There is a need to reject people who wants to continue dividing our beautiful country on tribal lines, hate speech and other bad vices aimed at dividing our people and to rise against each other when we have lived in harmony from time immemorial,” Chief Chisunka said.
The press briefing was also attended by State House Political Advisor, Levy Ngoma, Copperbelt Minister, Elias Matambo, and Members of Parliament.
The message from the traditional leaders was anchored on preaching national unity, peace and the need for people from across the country to live as one under the national motto of one Zambia, One Nation, and one people.
Ngoma said during the briefing that President Hakainde Hichilema was resolute on promoting One Zambia-One Nation.
Matambo thanked traditional leaders for committing to upholding the national mantra.
“We will continue preaching peace, unit in diversity which is one of the pillars for economic development as New Dawn Government under President Hichilema leadership,” he assured.
